The older terraces off the Erdington High Street tend to have compact combis squeezed into kitchens, often with condensate runs to outside walls that freeze in the first hard frost of the year — a fault we clear dozens of times each winter and one many owners can fix themselves once shown how.

Homes and heating in Erdington

Most of Erdington is 1930s semi-detached and terraced housing, with the Pype Hayes estate and Stockland Green built between the wars and Castle Vale rebuilt more recently. The typical 1930s semi here has had at least two boilers in its life and the pipework from the first one is usually still in the walls, so radiators that are cold at the bottom and a boiler that keeps losing pressure are the two calls we get most from B23 and B24.

Erdington is a ten-minute drive from our base in Handsworth Wood, which is why it is one of the areas where we can most often offer a same-day slot for a boiler repair.
