Water leak detection and repair

Leak tracing and repair is £99 for the first hour in office hours (Mon–Fri 8am–5.30pm); parts and any further work are quoted before we carry on. Slow leaks rarely announce themselves: a damp patch on a ceiling, a wet kitchen kickboard or a rising water bill is often the first sign. We isolate sections and narrow it down before lifting anything, rather than opening up walls hopefully. Leaking pipework, compression joints, flexi hoses, stop taps and radiator valves are the usual causes; any parts are quoted before we fit them. Shower repairs and replacements

A new mixer or electric shower is £300–£400 supplied and fitted. A shower repair (one that runs cold, cuts out, drips or will not shut off) is quoted after diagnosis, because the part decides the price; there is no fixed repair price on our list. On electric showers, the cable and consumer unit side matters as much as the plumbing — an 8.5kW unit needs the right supply and RCD protection, and we will tell you honestly if the existing cable is not up to the model you have bought.

Toilet repairs and replacements

We repair leaking or faulty toilets, but do not offer toilet unblocking. A toilet that will not flush or fill is £165–£200, and a new close-coupled toilet is £400 supplied and fitted (see the prices below). Cisterns that leak, pans and seals that weep, and flushes that have failed are booked in the same way: tell us what is happening and we agree the price with you before any work starts. Clearing a blocked sink or bath waste is £95.

Taps, garden taps and wastes

A kitchen tap is £200 supplied and fitted and a garden tap is £165. A blocked sink or bath waste is £95 to clear. Send us the make or a photo on WhatsApp and we will confirm the price before anything is booked.

Recent plumbing work

An Oldbury landlord flat where the tenants had put up with a trickle of hot water for over a year, after several engineers and a shower pump. The gate valve on the vented cylinder had snapped inside and was turning without opening. A full-bore lever valve fixed it in one visit. Read the case study. Two more hot water jobs in the city: a Megaflo in a city centre flat with no hot water, where both immersion elements came out scaled and corroded and were replaced on the same visit. And an expansion vessel in Hockley that had fallen off the wall, remounted on a plywood board with heavy-duty fixings after the original backboard had only been nailed to plasterboard.
