Why LPG needs a different qualification
LPG is heavier than air, burns at a different rate and needs different injectors, pressures and ventilation rules. Gas Safe registration is category-specific: an engineer registered for natural gas is not automatically permitted to touch LPG. Ours are registered for both, which is why we get called out to properties other firms have turned down.

Properties off the mains
Around the edges of the West Midlands there are plenty of homes with no mains gas — rural properties towards Staffordshire and Worcestershire, converted barns, park homes. LPG is often the practical answer, and a modern condensing LPG boiler is dramatically cheaper to run than old electric storage heating or an ageing oil system.
Bulk tank vs cylinders
Cylinders suit low demand and give you flexibility on supplier. A bulk tank is cheaper per litre and needs no changeovers, but ties you to a supply contract and needs siting to strict separation distances from buildings and boundaries. We will tell you what will physically fit before you commit to anything.

Are you qualified to work on LPG?
Yes. Our engineers hold LPG categories on their Gas Safe registration in addition to natural gas. Always ask any engineer to show you their card and check the categories listed on the back.
Can you convert a natural gas boiler to LPG?
Some models can be converted with a manufacturer's LPG kit. Many cannot. We check the appliance against the manufacturer's data before recommending it.
Do you cover park homes?
Yes, including LPG appliances, pipework and safety checks in park homes and static caravans.
Is LPG expensive to run?
Per kilowatt-hour it costs more than mains gas, but far less than electric storage heating. In an off-grid property a modern condensing LPG boiler is usually the cheapest realistic option.
