24/7 Emergency Gas & Plumbing, Birmingham — Synergy Gas & Plumbing, Birmingham
24/7 emergency callout across Birmingham and the Black Country. Gas Safe registered 594385.

Do this first

If you smell gas

  1. Turn the supply off at the emergency control valve by the meter.
  2. Open doors and windows.
  3. Do not touch light switches, plugs or anything that can spark. No naked flames.
  4. Leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 — free, 24 hours.
  5. Once they have made the supply safe, call us to trace the leak and repair it.

If water is pouring

  1. Turn off the main stop tap — usually under the kitchen sink, or outside at the boundary.
  2. Open all cold taps to drain the pipework down.
  3. If water is anywhere near lights or sockets, switch off at the consumer unit.
  4. Call us.

What counts as an emergency

  • Gas leaks and gas smells after the supply has been made safe
  • Burst pipes and uncontrollable leaks
  • No heating or hot water in cold weather, particularly with young children, elderly or vulnerable occupants
  • Boiler leaking water into the property
  • Carbon monoxide alarm sounding
  • Water leaking through a ceiling

How our out-of-hours service works

Our emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by the same engineers who do our daytime work — not a national call centre that subcontracts to whoever is nearest. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5.30pm, and a callout within those hours is £99, covering diagnosis and the first hour on site.

Outside office hours — evenings, nights and weekends — out-of-hours rates apply instead, and these are different from the daytime £99. Call us and we will give you a clear price for the callout before you commit to anything, so there is never a surprise on arrival. You will also be told who is coming and roughly when.

Making it safe, then making it right

The first job at 2am is containment: isolate, cap, stop the damage. Full repairs sometimes need parts that no merchant has open at that hour. We will always tell you honestly which of the two we are doing, so you are not paying emergency rates for work that could sensibly wait until the morning.

24/7 emergency callout: common questions

Are you really available 24 hours?

Our emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The £99 rate applies to callouts within office hours — Monday to Friday, 8am to 5.30pm. Outside those hours, call us and we will quote you a clear price before we come out.

How much is an emergency callout?

How quickly can you get to me?

Response depends on where you are and what is already on. Within Birmingham and the immediate Black Country we are usually with you within a couple of hours for a genuine emergency. Call and we will give you a real time, not an optimistic one.

Who do I call for a gas leak?
