The main heat exchanger had failed on a Worcester Greenstar Ri 18kW that had done 17 years. A new Greenstar Ri ErP went into the same kitchen cupboard, with a Worcester magnetic filter on the return, the system cleaned and dosed, and a 10-year manufacturer guarantee registered for the customer.

Service visit, October 2026: a Vaillant ecoTEC pro 28 leaking, with the heating staying on. The customer mentioned both when we arrived for the annual service. The diverter valve had rust and corrosion around its ports, so we replaced it and finished with a clean flue gas analysis. Read the case study, with photos.
Willow Road — the boiler that kept losing pressure. The customer was topping their pressure up every few days, which almost always means water is escaping somewhere. We traced it to a faulty manifold inside their Bosch boiler, collected the replacement part the same day, fitted it and re-tested the whole system before leaving — a December job, so getting the heating back the same day mattered.
A Vaillant dripping from inside the case. A Vaillant in Solihull was leaking from a corroded support bracket inside the casing. We stripped the boiler down, fitted a genuine Vaillant replacement bracket, reassembled and confirmed it leak-free before leaving.
Ortado Mediterranean Turkish Grill, Dorridge. In summer 2025, while this brand-new Dorridge restaurant was being fitted out ahead of opening, we installed its designer radiators and completed the plumbing works — commercial heating in a new-build venue, with the finish chosen to match the interior.
And a Shirley semi with a boiler only twelve years old was already sludging up and losing pressure every few weeks — no filter, no inhibitor. A power flush and a magnetic filter sorted it.
The larger homes in Knowle, Dorridge and parts of Olton often run a system boiler with an unvented hot water cylinder rather than a combi — more bathrooms, more hot water drawn at once.
