Heating work in Solihull

Across Shirley, Olton and Monkspath we see a lot of well-maintained houses with quietly deteriorating heating systems — no inhibitor, no magnetic filter, cold spots creeping in. A power flush at £550 plus a filter at £320 typically resolves it and protects the boiler for years.

Recent boiler installations

Shirley — a combi swap in a bathroom airing cupboard. We replaced a Ferroli F24 with a Baxi 600, fitted back into the same airing cupboard — a tight space where neat pipework matters more than speed. That job was in 2022, and we are Baxi Works accredited installers.

An open-flued Glow-worm converted to a combi. An older Solihull property was still running an open-flued Glow-worm with a separate hot water cylinder. Repairs — same day where parts allow

Willow Road — the boiler that kept losing pressure. The customer was topping their pressure up every few days, which almost always means water is escaping somewhere. We traced it to a faulty manifold inside their Bosch boiler, collected the replacement part the same day, fitted it and re-tested the whole system before leaving — a December job, so getting the heating back the same day mattered.

A Vaillant dripping from inside the case. A Vaillant in Solihull was leaking from a corroded support bracket inside the casing. We stripped the boiler down, fitted a genuine Vaillant replacement bracket, reassembled and confirmed it leak-free before leaving.

A Greenstar 28i Junior leaking from its manifold, April 2026. The right-hand hydraulic manifold had corroded and was weeping inside the case. Chelmsley Wood, November 2025: a landlord inspection that found carbon monoxide. Rust behind the heat exchanger of a Glow-worm heat-only boiler and a CO reading on the analyser, in a house with a young family. We capped the boiler off, told the tenant and landlord, and replaced the cracked flue collector and gaskets with the landlord's permission. Read the case study.

Not just boilers

Ortado Mediterranean Turkish Grill, Dorridge. In summer 2025, while this brand-new Dorridge restaurant was being fitted out ahead of opening, we installed its designer radiators and completed the plumbing works — commercial heating in a new-build venue, with the finish chosen to match the interior.

And a Shirley semi with a boiler only twelve years old was already sludging up and losing pressure every few weeks — no filter, no inhibitor. A power flush and a magnetic filter sorted it.

System boilers and unvented cylinders

The larger homes in Knowle, Dorridge and parts of Olton often run a system boiler with an unvented hot water cylinder rather than a combi — more bathrooms, more hot water drawn at once. We fit and repair both, and we are G3 qualified for unvented work. One Dorridge family had never been told their cylinder needed its own annual safety check, separate from the boiler service — we now do the two together in a single visit.
